Slaves Handbook

Gorean slavery can be an exciting, yet sometimes frightening thing. Girls or boys who come to a Gorean tavern or other Gorean place online to serve often experience a fear that is magnified by not knowing how to behave. Slaves are often concerned that Free Persons may find them less than pleasing, or ask them to do something they do not feel comfortable doing or even comprehend. This little manual attempts to help you feel more comfortable and give you a brief overview of what is expected and how things work.
What is a kajira/kajirus?
Basically a kajira/kajirus is a Gorean slave girl/boy who are usually branded with a kef(K)and may be collared or uncollared, owned by a Room or a Master/Mistress. But there is a difference between a kajira/kajirus and a slave. A kajira/kajirus serves her/his Master/Mistress with pride, her/his submission comes from deep within their soul, and it is also a part of your heart. A true kajira/kajiru will kneel in front of their Master/Mistress and surrender not only her/his body, but her/his mind, heart and soul. She/he belongs to Him/Her completely, totally and unconditionally. This goes well beyond trust, a kajira/kajirus must have integrity, loyalty, and honesty. For without those values you have nothing. But with them you have everything. You must unquestioningly strive to please your Master/Mistress, His/Her word is law. He/She will protect you, nurture you, and guide you. He/She will punish you, but not with hate or cruelty, but with love and caring to make you strong and special. True kajira/kajirus are valued property, because with all of their heart they want only to bring her/his Master/Mistress great pleasure. She/he does this with the beauty of their serves, the pride in which she/he wears their collar, and continually works on ways to please her/his Master/Mistress.
A kajira/kajirus must NEVER dishonor or bring dishonor to her/his Master/Mistress, their collar and their sister/brother kajira/kajirus?. If ever a Master/Mistress has you serve someone else you must do it with the same pride and love you show for your own Master/Mistress. A kajira/kajirus is different from a slave, anyone can be a slave, but only a few are true kajira/kajirus?. That is why we are special.
Entering and Leaving a Room
Entering the room:
If a Free Person is present, in the room you that you are entering, you should kneel down in the doorway and bend forward to put your head to the floor then lift your hands over your head and press your hands flat (this shows you do not bear weapons) and ask permission to enter when you come in. Technically speaking, you're already in the room, but ask permission to enter it further. (the position is often called karta)
Examples for kajira:
melting to wide spread knees as she presses her body to the chilled of the floor? softly parted lips tenderly kissing the ground while lifting delicate fingers through the golden mane of curls above her to splay to the chill of the stones?.. in a soft voice she begs?.may this slave have permission to enter please?
smiles as she lowers to the cool stones her thighs parted widely as her breasts and forehead sweep low, long silky arms outstretch, her fingers splay as her cheek cools as it gently touches the floor ... may a girl please enter the home?
kneels upon her knees .. bending folding .. laying her cheek softly upon the tiles .. feeling the coolness .. she snakes out her arms reaching with her fingers .. softly with a vibrant voice the girl begs : May a girl please enter?
Examples for kajirus:
kneels in the entrance with wide spread thighs forehead pressed to the floor back and shoulders straight arms outstretched in front fingers fanned out and pressing at the floor ... this boy begs permission to enter the Tavern?
kneels down at the entrance slowly, he pushes his strong body forwards arching it down to the floor, placing his forehead against the cool stone lightly, strong arms flex as they come up pressing his hands down to the floor at either side of his head .... may a boy enter?
listens..and peeks in to a kneel... chest and forehead down to the ground ...hands wrestling out with fingers splayed ...cheek against the floor ... his dark thick mane covering his eyes as he says with thick clear voice may this slave beast enter?
Vary your entrances each time that you visit. Do NOT macro them or cut and paste them from a file.
Leaving the room:
Again, if a Free Person is in the room, ask permission to leave. If you need to go afk (away-from-keyboard you should also ask permission. It won't be denied, the object is not to keep you online against your will, but to show respect and submission.
Greeting Free Persons and slaves
After you enter a room, you go to kneel on the slave furs unless a Free Person otherwise instructs you. First you should thank the one who granted you permission to enter the room. Most require you greet Masters, FreeWomen and then slaves in that order.  You Must greet every single Free Person in the room.
A Free Person's name will be capitalized, and their description should give you an indication of their Free status. If not, then greet the Free as a Master, but be ready to beg mercy if it is a Mistress. They might give you a little bit of a hard time about it, but Most won?t. And always greet EACH Free Person separately. Free Men are always greeted before Free Women.
Once all of the Free Persons have been greeted, then you may greet your fellow slaves. A simple greetings slavename is fine. (Slaves may be greeted as a group, and don?t have to be done individually). If a slave is serving someone, or at Free Person's feet, do not expect them to greet you in return, as their job at that moment is to focus on the one that they are serving or speaking with.
Service to Free
When you are in service to a Free Person, serving Them, talking to Them, or simply kneeling at His or Her feet, your attention is to be focused to that one person. You should not return the greetings of people who enter the room without permission. Also, while you are busy serving one Free Person do not ask questions or talk to others as they come into the tavern, or leave it. Focus completely on the person you are serving unless they give you permission out loud to speak to others in the room. If you must communicate with someone else, use a pm and keep it very brief.

Gorean Drinks and Food

Foods and drinks on Gor have many similarities to earth foods and beverages, but the names are different. Learn the names and what similarities or comparisons there are to Earth foods and drinks and you'll do just fine.

A few examples:
Drinks:
Black Wine (like coffee),"first slave" served sweet (with yellow and white sugars) and light (with bosk milk), or with no additives it is called "second slave" (black) - there's a story there, but that's for another manual. It's served by ladling it from a kettle brewing on the fire pit, typically in a small cup.
Paga - strong liquor , served either chilled, room temp or hot. Chilled paga is found in the cold room in a bota, room temp is in a bota in the rack, hot is kept simmering in a kettle over the fire? all are served in a footed bowl.
Kalana (or ka-la-na) ? red wine, served room temperature or chilled. Stored in a bottle (chilled kalana will be in the cold room and room temp will be in the wine rack) and is typically served in a goblet.
Foods:
Meats - vulo (like chicken), bosk (like beef), verr (lamb or goat), tarsk (pork); prepared and served like any of those earth dishes.
Bread - sa-tarna bread and black bread are typical. Sa-tarna is more of the staple, baked in round loaves, subdivided into triangular segments. Frequently served with honey or cinnamon on the side.
Fruits - tospit (citrus), ta grapes, ramberries, larma are four good ones to know.
Veggies - sul (potatoes) - a staple. Peas and onions and beans make an appearance.
Collars and silks
On Gor, Free do not usually ask a slave to wear His/Her collar. Gor requires a slave to beg the collar of the Free it wishes to belong to. Once you accept a collar, you are under the Free?s control completely. It's not unheard of for a Gorean Owner to kill His/Her slave's character (nickname) if it displeases the Owner enough. In a nutshell, do not beg a collar lightly. It is a serious decision, a commitment you should make with much consideration and forethought. Once you beg the collar be prepared to stay in it and be pleasing until a time the owner wishes to release you. It is a dis-honor to your Owner to beg release, it also shows lack of truly being a slave. Slaves are not to concentrate upon there pleasure there one and only goal is to please Free .. if you keep the Free pleased you can feel pleased with yourself.
Slaves are classified by what type/color silks they have been trained to wear. But will actually wear the color that pleases the Free. This is true in most of Gor?. but not all of Gor. The differences will be discussed later.
Silks:
White silk can be any level but are either "virginal" , or their sexual use is reserved by their own Master. They may or may not be allowed to serve food or drink etc. in the tavern.
Yellow silk slaves are well trained, and can serve a variety of foods and drink, as well as entertain with songs or stories, are pleasing and welcoming to all, help their sisters and brothers to learn, and may even be able to dance to entertain. They can serve citizens sexually if they wish.
Red silk are extremely well trained, know how to serve just about anything a Master or Mistress can think of, are sexually trained to please as well, they can dance, they help teach, and are very sensual in all of their movements. They also know a great deal about Gor, the stories, castes of Free Persons, and more.

Do's and Don'ts for slaves
Do --- Use a "slicing tool" of sinew to cut or peel food items in the servery. Never ever touch a knife.
As a new slave it's wise not to privately message a Master or Mistress you don't know, without asking permission, aloud first. As you become more at ease you might know which Masters and Mistresses would welcome messages from you.
Don't --- Never touch a weapon or a coin. If you are offered a coin for service or food or drink, take it on your tongue without touching your hands to it, or let it lay on the table and get a cloth to pick it up with, then drop it in a cup. Give it to your Owner or the Owner of the Room as the Free Person's payment. Do not keep it.
Do --- If you make a mistake, one that's pretty obvious, acknowledge your error and beg mercy for it (slaves do not apologize but beg mercy of the Free on Gor). It's better to do that than wait to be brought up short with it.
Don't --- Do NOT flaunt yourself sexually unless your silk color is one that permits you to do so. In other words - don't fiddle with the larma fruit, don't talk about or show your slave heat (genitals obviously displayed), don't braid your hair or put it in a bondage knot, don't wear a talender flower in your hair unless your silk color allows you to be used sexually and you are willing to give what you are offering.
Don't --- NEVER correct a Free Person in public. Free might not always be right but they are NEVER wrong. The last word always belongs to the slave. And those words are Yes, Master or Yes, Mistress.
Tasks to keep yourself occupied
Always try to show that you are somehow occupied. If you are just learning, spend some time in the slave gathering to read help files. There are always chores you can do to show yourself busy, and not a lazy slave:
Sweep up ashes from the hearth
Poke up the fire
Polish/Dust furniture
Arrange flowers
Chop firewood
Learn about foods
Bring in firewood
Sweep and mop the entry way
Take unoccupied furs outside to beat the dust from them
Put out fresh candles around the room in the candle holders attached to the walls
Check the kettles to be sure enough blackwine is brewing, enough water is hot for tea, enough paga is warming, enough kal-da is brewing
Pick up dirty dishes from the tables and take them to the servery to wash them

Slave Behaviour Hints

Slaves are required to beg permission to enter and leave, and go afk . If permission has not been granted after three requests, a slave may go ahead and enter, leave, or go afk, however a fair amount of time should be waited between each request. (EXCEPTION: unless a technical problem booted them off, then slaves do not need to beg to re-entry but must state that they are re-entering and had net trouble ? this is to be checked with each Master)
Slaves and visiting slaves are to know that when you are in the Use of a Free it shows great disrespect to ask to leave them. A slave is to serve till the Free is pleased not till they feel they wish to go.
A slave will always try to be the first to greet a Master/Mistress upon their entry. (If in a serve a slave will do so as soon as it is not an interference to the one a slave serves and has permission from the one they are serving or has been released.)
A slave will always try to be the first to ask an entering Master/ Mistress if they need something. (Again if in a serve a slave will not ask.) And when not serving, and there are Masters/Mistresses present, a slave will ask if anyone needs served. A slave will ask each one not being served or not served recently individually by name. A slave will not shout. You will offer service to the free from before them on your knees.
Slaves will report any private messages from Master's and Mistresses who have not made prior requests to their Master/Mistress.
A slave not serving will find something to keep them busy. There are always dishes to wash, kitchen to cleaned, stocking to be done, clothes to wash and mend. Find something to do.
A slave always will be pleasant and cheerful to a Master/Mistress. If a slave feels they cannot be of a pleasing, positive attitude, at all times, then they are not to enter, or are to leave until they are in the right frame of mind. It is understood that each slave will have troubles and problems from time to time and as family we care but any troubles should be spoken about in private message.
Slaves will always remember that they are slaves. The Masters/Mistresses are their first priority. They must give them attention over their fellow brother and sister slaves.
A slave will not use profanity.
All slaves will use lowercase letters to define their status of servitude and to refer to themselves, and will always use uppercase whenever referring to a Master/Mistress.
All kajirae/kajiri will also acknowledge departures of Masters/Mistresses with the same respect.
There is to be creativity and talent appropriate to the level of personal learning shown in each post a slave makes to a Master/Mistress.

  1. This shit is a protocole for slaves when they enter in an IRC chat room and doesn't apply for Second Life where it is seen as a bunch of onlineisms. For example, there is no such things in books as the greetings order (as slaves anyway, greet only where they are addressed, they seldom speak first). Here an example (Tuka and Tupita are slaves)
"I wish you well, Tuka," she had said. "I wish you well, too, Tupita," I had said. Mirus had then crouched near me and kissed me. "I wish you well, slave," he had said. "I wish you well, Master," I had said.

Also, "kajiri" is not the plural of kajirus, but for both kajirae and kajirus (when you refer to both genders)

Abou slaves always busy? There are quotes showing that not only, free men in Southern cities don't want their slaves sepnding all their time to work, as they would be tired at the end of the day and so, less pleasant when their owner is back at home, but too, that slaves have free time where they can do what please them....
Dancer of Gor Book 22 Page 447

There are 2 status of silks: Red and white and they do not refer to any level of training. A white silk is a virgin girl, a red silk is no more virgin. A white silk can be very well trained (examples in Assassins) and a red silk can be still perfectly ignorant regarding the ways to please a free man.

A kajrus is not a boy. Save if he is really young, under age, he is a man, referred too as a male slave. Boy, in books, is used for men under age, free or not. They are seldom submissive,
There are examples of slaves who are not happy in their slavery, some hate their owner (read Fighting slave, Lady's Florence slave, the one she sent in the stables, as spy, who confesses to Jason how she hates her mistress).

Anyway, correcting all this shit would take hours, please, read the books and forget the onlineisms brought by lifestylers from IRC chat rooms in SL Gor. It took years to get rid of most of them.
